Concrete Planing
Oct 30, 2008 ALLTRADES CONTRACTING is pleased to announce the arrival of our first portable concrete planer. The machine is the first of its type in the region and is capable of planing concrete and ashphalt in tight areas like small floors, sidewalks and pool decks just to mention a few of its jobs. The machine is capable of planing a width of 13" and taking down a 1/16 inch at a pass. The new ATC planer will be able to replace hand grinders in most cases and save hours of tedious labor. In most cases the final finish is good enough depending on the customer's requirements. If a finer finish is needed, our floor grinding and polishing equipment would be brought in to complete the process. In a recent project the planer was brought in to grind a 1/4" of spalled concrete. The 4,000 sq. ft. project was completed in 2 days with excellent results. The alternative to grinding would have been total replacement of the slab at a very prohibitive cost.
